The Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA) has expressed concern over the growing number of building collapses and the rapid deterioration of roads across the country despite significant investments in infrastructure.

The institute says the trend raises serious questions about construction standards, project supervision, and long-term infrastructure planning.

GIA is calling for stronger regulation, improved oversight, and closer collaboration between foreign and local professionals to ensure projects are durable, safe, and suited to Ghana's environmental conditions.

The institute believes a more coordinated approach is needed to protect public investments and improve the quality and lifespan of infrastructure nationwide.
