Israeli strikes kill entire families in Gaza in latest ceasefire violations

Israeli forces have intensified attacks across Gaza, killing at least 10 Palestinians in the past 24 hours, according to reports from the territory. The escalation comes as Palestinians closely follow ceasefire talks in Cairo aimed at advancing the next phase of the agreement reached last year. On Saturday, Israeli forces killed Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah in central Gaza, prompting Al Jazeera to condemn the attack as a deliberate and targeted crime against journalists. Meanwhile, members of the al-Safadi family, including children, were reportedly killed in an Israeli strike on a residential building. Palestinians and rights advocates continue to question attacks that have wiped out entire families, while Israel says it targets Hamas members and military infrastructure. Despite years of war, displacement and failed negotiations, many Gazans remain cautiously hopeful that the Cairo talks will secure a lasting ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid and an end to the violence.

Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud reports from Gaza City, Palestine.
