Puerto Rico is facing a water crisis
Puerto Rico is facing a water crisis so severe that the National Guard has been mobilized. Tens of thousands of residents have been impacted by recent pipe ruptures. “I've been without water service for about two weeks,” says David Ramos, a longtime resident. “I've known of people who have gone close to over 40 days without water service."
A number of factors, including drought and the island's crumbling aqueduct system, have fueled the crisis.
