The Ghana Institute of Architects (Ghana Institute of Architects) has raised concerns over increasing building collapses and the rapid deterioration of roads in Ghana despite significant infrastructure investments.

President of GIA, Architect Tony Asare, says weak regulation, poor supervision, and lack of accountability are undermining the quality of public and private construction projects across the country.

He is calling for stronger enforcement of building standards and improved collaboration between foreign contractors and local professionals to ensure durable and safe infrastructure development.

The Institute warns that without urgent reforms, Ghana risks continued losses in public safety, resources, and infrastructure longevity.
