Heavy Flooding Causes Massive Gridlock on Cape Coast Highway

A torrential downpour has caused widespread flooding in Moree in the Central Region, leaving motorists and commuters stranded along the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway in severe traffic congestion.
Amid the flooding, a taxi carrying two occupants, including the driver, was swept away by strong currents. Fortunately, residents were able to rescue both individuals, although the vehicle was completely submerged.
The situation has caused heavy gridlock stretching from Yamoransa Junction to Aggrey Memorial SHS, forcing several passengers to abandon their vehicles and walk through floodwaters to continue their journeys.
Some stranded commuters told Channel One News they had been trapped in traffic for over four hours as authorities struggled to restore normal traffic flow.
