NPP Communications Director Richard Ahiagbah, speaking on The Big Issue with Umaru Sanda Amadu, has explained that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta's adjusted stay in the United States is solely for medical treatment.

According to him, Ofori-Atta is not remaining in the U.S. to evade accountability but has taken an “option leave” arrangement to focus on his health.

He emphasized that the decision was driven entirely by medical considerations, stressing that the former minister requires time in the U.S. for treatment.

The remarks come amid ongoing public and political debate over Ofori-Atta's status and broader questions of accountability and legal processes.
