Tourism Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his leadership in advancing Ghana's advocacy for reparatory justice and addressing the enduring legacies of enslavement.
Speaking at the Consultative Conference on the UN Slavery Resolution, she said the President's efforts have helped elevate Africa's voice on the global stage and strengthened calls for historical accountability.
The Minister also stressed the importance of radical truth-telling, warning that the story of the trafficking and enslavement of Africans must not be shaped to suit the comfort of others.
According to her, preserving the integrity of the historical narrative is essential to honouring the past and ensuring such injustices are never repeated.
She further expressed gratitude to chiefs, queen mothers, traditional leaders, and international partners for their continued support, noting that their contributions have laid a strong foundation for meaningful progress on reparatory justice.
