The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, has appealed to the youth in Salaga to desist from any planned attacks on health professionals following the recent alleged baby theft incident at the Salaga Municipal Hospital in the Savannah Region.
Speaking during a working visit to the area after the remand of two midwives in police custody, he urged residents to remain calm and allow ongoing investigations to proceed without interference.
Prof. Akoriyea also called on the community to support the Ghana Health Service and health workers as authorities work to establish the full facts of the case.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and protecting healthcare professionals while due process is followed.
