UK-Based Ghanaian PhD Students Plan Major Protest After Alleged Assault | News Feed
Executives of Ghana's sponsored PhD students in the United Kingdom have announced plans to embark on a week-long protest in London from July 2 to July 9, 2026.
The planned demonstration follows allegations of an assault on Miss Abena Fosua Gyasi at the Ghana High Commission in London, as well as concerns over unpaid tuition fees and stipends.
According to the students, medical examinations confirmed that Miss Gyasi sustained multiple soft-tissue injuries. The students say the protest aims to draw attention to both the alleged incident and the prolonged funding challenges affecting Ghanaian scholars in the UK.
