Minority: Akufo-Addo Govt Spent GH¢450m on Flood Control Projects
The Minority in Parliament says the Akufo-Addo administration committed GH¢450 million towards flood control programmes during its eight-year tenure.
Speaking at a Capacity Building Workshop for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in Accra, Ranking Member on Parliament's Local Government and Rural Development Committee, Francis Asenso-Boakye, said a significant portion of the funds was invested in drainage infrastructure and flood mitigation projects.
He urged the Mahama administration to sustain and expand such interventions to further reduce flooding, especially in the capital, Accra, where seasonal rains continue to cause major disruptions.
