Queenstar Sawyerr: Parliament Committed to Flood Control Efforts
The Chairperson of Parliament's Local Government and Rural Development Committee, Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr, has reaffirmed Parliament's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at addressing the perennial flooding challenges in Accra.
She noted that flooding continues to pose significant risks to lives, property, and infrastructure, especially during the rainy season, and stressed the need for sustained collaboration between Parliament, local authorities, and relevant agencies.
According to her, Parliament remains committed to backing practical interventions that will improve drainage systems and reduce the impact of floods in affected communities.
