Bosome Freho: Illegal Mining Pits Claim 3 Lives in Recent Months
The District Chief Executive for Bosome Freho, Charles Appiah Kubi, has revealed that abandoned mining pits in the area have claimed the lives of three individuals over the past few months.
He warned that the unprotected pits continue to pose serious safety risks to residents, especially in communities affected by illegal mining activities.
According to him, the Assembly is taking steps to ensure that all reclaimed and abandoned pits are properly secured to prevent further accidents and loss of life.
The comments come amid ongoing land reclamation efforts in the Ashanti Region aimed at restoring degraded lands and improving environmental safety.
