Mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi, Frederick Festinous Faidoo, has rejected claims that he is presiding over a dirty metropolis.

He argues that the GH¢19.5 million allocated from the 10% Common Fund for waste management is inadequate to fully address the city's sanitation challenges.

According to him, the Assembly inherited no waste collection trucks and continues to operate under a constrained contract with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, making effective waste management difficult.

Despite these challenges, he says the Assembly has made improvements in sanitation with the introduction of new equipment and logistics to enhance waste collection and cleanliness in the metropolis.
