The oak processionary caterpillar is infesting oak trees in many parts of Europe, forcing authorities to cordon off affected areas. The caterpillar's hairs can trigger allergic reactions like rashes, breathing problems and anaphylactic Shock. In some districts in the German capital Berlin, the pests have become a plague.
