Clean Up Accra Campaign Reaches Achimota–Christian Village Stretch

The Clean Up Accra campaign has reached the Achimota–Christian Village stretch, with business operators calling on the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly to support community-led sanitation efforts.

The initiative, spearheaded by Zoomlion Ghana Limited in partnership with Channel One TV and the Ghana Police Service, has so far covered more than 15 communities across the capital.

The campaign focuses on desilting drains, clearing refuse, and improving environmental sanitation to help reduce flooding, especially in flood-prone parts of Accra.

Speaking during the exercise, several business operators—many of whom are frequently affected by flooding—called for stricter enforcement of sanitation laws and stronger collaboration between residents and authorities to address persistent waste management challenges.
