The Clean Up Accra initiative is nearing completion as sanitation teams continue large-scale desilting and drainage restoration across the capital.

The exercise, led by Zoomlion Ghana Limited in partnership with Channel One TV, the Ghana Police Service, and the National Disaster Management Organisation, has covered key flood-prone communities including Abokobi and the Achimota enclave.

In Abokobi, long-blocked drains that had not been dredged for over 10 years were restored, while extensive desilting works were also carried out around the Achimota Forest enclave to improve water flow and sanitation conditions.

Authorities say the intervention is part of a broader effort to reduce flooding risks, improve drainage systems, and enhance environmental cleanliness across Accra as the exercise enters its final phase.
