Argentina's team captain and star player, Lionel Messi, became the World Cup's all-time top goalscorer at 38 years old after scoring three goals against Algeria on June 16, in Kansas City.

The Argentine has now surpassed German striker Miroslav Klose and Brazilian phenomenon Ronaldo Nazario. Messi, who became a world champion 4 years ago, also broke the record for the oldest player to score for Argentina. He also holds the record for the youngest player to ever score.
