Excavators have been deployed to clear long-blocked drains at the Abokubi Wetlands and Waterway Reservation in the Ga East Municipal Assembly as part of the ongoing Clean Up Accra initiative.

The exercise, spearheaded by Zoomlion Ghana Limited in partnership with Channel One TV, the Ghana Police Service, and NADMO (National Disaster Management Organization), aims to restore water flow and reduce the risk of flooding in surrounding communities.

Operational Manager of Dredge Masters, Sena Adiepena, says the dredging exercise will cover close to 200 meters upstream by the end of the day, ensuring improved drainage efficiency and long-term flood prevention.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to improve sanitation and urban resilience in the Greater Accra Region.
