Afenyo-Markin Praises Roads Minister Over Field Visits to Project Sites

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has commended the Minister for Roads for his active field visits to monitor ongoing infrastructure projects across the country.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, he acknowledged the Minister's efforts in engaging contractors and ensuring that project sites are actively supervised.

However, he also raised concerns about the slow progress of key road projects, particularly the Accra–Winneba highway and the Winneba Roundabout–Swedru road, which he described as a critical gateway to the Central Region.

Afenyo-Markin noted that while commendation is important when public officials perform well, accountability must also be maintained where projects are delayed or underperforming.

He further indicated plans to formally raise questions in Parliament regarding the status of major road infrastructure projects nationwide.
