In the view of Djoomart Otorbaev, former Kyrgyz prime minister, China and the Global Governance Initiative offer countries in the Global South a meaningful alternative to traditional Western governance models. With the expansion of BRICS, the growing membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and continued cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the initiative provides practical pathways for effective global governance.
