Psychologist Demands Completion of Agenda 111 Psychiatric Facility in Northern Region

Mental health stakeholders in the Northern Region are calling for stronger capacity building to address rising substance abuse cases.

Clinical Psychologist and lecturer at the University for Development Studies (University for Development Studies), Peter MintirAmadu, urged government to adequately resource mental health professionals at all levels.

He also called for the completion of the stalled Northern Region psychiatric facility under the Agenda 111 health infrastructure programme, stressing the need for urgent investment in mental health services.

Experts say strengthening mental health systems is critical to addressing the growing burden of substance abuse in the region.
