President John Dramani Mahama has directed the release of GH¢100 million to support the operational launch of the Ghana National Research Fund (GNRF) in 2026.
Speaking at the official launch in Accra, the President emphasized that the fund will help bridge the gap between academic research and commercial production, enabling innovations from Ghanaian researchers to be scaled into impactful national development solutions.
The Ghana National Research Fund, established under the Ghana National Research Fund Act, 2020 (Act 1056), is designed to provide sustainable financing for research, innovation, and technology development across key sectors including science, agriculture, health, technology, social sciences, and the humanities.
