Trump-Netanyahu fallout exposes divisions over Iran deal

A rare public rift has emerged between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu over US-led negotiations with Iran, straining one of Washington's most strategically significant alliances. Trump, who has provided Israel with unprecedented political and military support, reportedly berated Netanyahu for attempting to derail the talks. Netanyahu now faces pressure from coalition allies to defy Trump's directives on Iran, Lebanon and the occupied West Bank — moves that could cost him crucial US backing. Compliance, however, risks collapsing his coalition and jeopardising his bid to avoid a return to the courtroom.
