Government Rejects “Sole-Source Factory” Claims on Road Contracts

The government has rejected allegations that the Ministry of Roads and Highways has become a “sole-source factory”, insisting that most road contracts awarded under the current administration were done through open and competitive tendering processes.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu disclosed that a detailed investigation ordered by President John Mahama found that 90.28% of all road contracts awarded since 2025 followed competitive procurement procedures.
He maintained that the findings demonstrate government's commitment to transparency and due process in public procurement, particularly in the roads sector.
