A growing sanitation concern is unfolding in parts of Accra as tricycle waste collectors abandon their vehicles along the Weija–McCarthy Hill stretch.
The operators say they have been unable to offload refuse at the Mallam Landfill Site for weeks, leaving many with no option but to park their vehicles and suspend operations.
The situation is raising fears of a potential sanitation crisis, with residents and business owners in the area expressing concern about the impact on public health and the environment.
They are calling on authorities to urgently provide an alternative waste disposal solution and restore normal waste collection services before the situation worsens.
