World Leaders React to US-Iran Deal as Questions Remain Over Peace

welcoming the apparent breakthrough while warning that major challenges remain.

French President Emmanuel Macron called for the urgent and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, saying the agreement could pave the way for broader negotiations on peace and security in the Middle East.

Iranian analysts say the deal could improve Tehran's relations with regional countries and create momentum for greater stability, provided both sides implement the memorandum of understanding in good faith.

But critics, including some Iranian opposition figures and US conservatives, remain deeply skeptical, arguing that the agreement leaves key questions unresolved and may only provide temporary relief from tensions.

Former US officials have also warned that difficult negotiations still lie ahead, particularly over Iran's nuclear programme, regional influence and sanctions relief.

The agreement may have opened the door to diplomacy, but its long-term success will depend on whether both sides can turn a preliminary understanding into a lasting settlement.
