It's been one year since Senator Alex Padilla was dragged out of a DHS news conference while asking questions about sweeping immigration raids that sparked protests across Los Angeles. One year later, leadership at the agency has changed, but “the cruelty continues,” says Padilla. “The ultimate check” and “the ultimate accountability,” says Padilla, will be the midterm elections, if Democrats win back Congress.
