Trump nominating Clayton for DNI to “undermine elections”: Rohde

President Trump announced he is nominating Jay Clayton for DNI. The Senate Intelligence Committee is scheduled to hold his confirmation hearing next week. Trump has said he wants the DNI to look into potential cases of alleged election fraud, something Clayton has already commented on in regards to the Los Angeles Mayoral election, despite no evidence of fraud in that race. The Morning Joe panel discusses concerns the Clayton pick is setting the stage for the Trump administration to question the results of the 2026 and 2028 elections.
