A huge pile of rubbish has been left uncollected at Kaneshie Market, raising concerns among residents and sanitation officials. During rainfall, much of the waste is washed into nearby drains, clogging them and contributing to flash floods in the area.
The situation has prompted renewed efforts under the Clean Up Accra initiative, led by Zoomlion Ghana Limited, in partnership with Channel One TV, the Ghana Police Service, and National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), aimed at improving sanitation and reducing flood risks across Accra.
