The Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly has demolished illegal structures at the Agbogbloshie Onion Market as part of efforts to clear waterways and reduce the risk of flooding in the area.
The exercise, carried out with support from the military, police, and National Security, targeted structures that were blocking drainage channels and worsening sanitation conditions within the market enclave.
Municipal Chief Executive Frank Nkansah says the Assembly will continue enforcement measures to prevent re-encroachment and ensure long-term flood control and improved urban management.
