Giant panda cub born in South Korean zoo highlights breeding success
A baby giant panda weighing only 171 grams has been born in a South Korean zoo. The female cub is the offspring of Ai Bao and Le Bao, two giant pandas who arrived in South Korea from China's Sichuan Province on a 15-year loan in 2016. With the tiny cub still vulnerable, unable to see or hear, the panda's zookeeper at the Everland zoo in Yongin has said he will "focus on caring for Ai Bao and the baby panda." The newcomer, who is yet to be named, marks South Korea's third successful natural breeding of giant pandas, following Fu Bao in 2020 and twins Rui Bao and Hui Bao in 2023. #worldnow
