Pakistan economy: Cost of living rising as budget under IMF pressure

Pakistan is preparing to release its federal budget, as it faces growing economic pressure from the Gulf crisis. Food and fuel prices have risen, and the government has ordered spending cuts. The government is also under pressure from the IMF to carry out reforms linked to a 7-billion-dollar bailout with many Pakistanis fearing the budget will mean higher bills, more taxes and deeper cuts to public spending.
