Chief Justice Hails New Legal Education Act as Game-Changer for Ghana

The Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has described the enactment of the Legal Education Act, 2026 (Act 1170), as a major milestone in the transformation of legal education in Ghana.
The law was passed by Parliament in March and received presidential assent from President John Dramani Mahama last month.
Speaking at a colloquium on legal education reform, the Chief Justice urged universities and law faculties to prepare adequately for the implementation of the reforms.
He emphasized that the new framework is aimed at strengthening the quality and structure of legal training in Ghana.
