The Ghana Chamber of Mines has elected Ing. Frederick Attakumah, Executive Vice President and Country Director of Asante Gold Corporation, as its new President at its 98th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

He succeeds Michael Edem Akafia, Vice President for External Affairs at Gold Fields, who completed his two-year tenure after leading the Chamber through key industry and policy engagements.

The AGM also ushered in new leadership, with Angela D. Attieh elected as First Vice President, while Danquah Addo-Yobo was elected Second Vice President.

The new leadership is expected to steer the Chamber through evolving developments in Ghana's mining sector.
