Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has urged the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to adopt innovative approaches to addressing infrastructure challenges by redeveloping old and dilapidated structures into modern facilities.

Speaking during his ongoing nationwide assessment of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the Minister noted that the Assembly's limited access to land should not hinder development initiatives.

He encouraged officials to maximize existing assets by transforming outdated buildings into modern infrastructure capable of meeting the growing needs of residents and improving service delivery across the capital.

The remarks form part of efforts to promote efficient urban planning and sustainable development within metropolitan assemblies.
