SLTF Official: Some Students Use Expensive Phones but Refuse to Repay Loans

Head of Repayment and Recovery at the Student Loan Trust Fund, Rosemary Aryee, has issued a strong message to loan beneficiaries over repayment compliance.
She noted that some students who default on repayment claims are seen carrying expensive phones that cost more than the loans they received.
According to her, such arguments like “I do not work so I can't repay my loan” are not acceptable, stressing the importance of repayment to sustain the scheme for future students.
The comments come amid ongoing efforts by the SLTF to improve loan recovery and ensure the long-term sustainability of student financing in Ghana.
