The Minority in Parliament is demanding the establishment of a bipartisan committee to investigate a recent controversial awards ceremony following allegations that government ministers paid to receive honors.

The controversy stems from claims that several ministers were awarded recognitions after allegedly making financial contributions prior to the event.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Member of Parliament for Tolon, Habib Iddrisu, called for a formal bipartisan inquiry to examine the circumstances surrounding the ceremony.

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, expressed support for a probe to uphold integrity but urged adherence to proper parliamentary procedures in forming the committee.
