NLA Workers Threaten Strike Over Poor Conditions and Management Decisions

The Labour Union of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) is threatening to embark on industrial action over what it describes as worsening operational challenges, poor staff welfare, and management decisions affecting the organization.
In a statement outlining its concerns, the union cited obsolete Point of Sale (POS) terminals, deteriorating office and residential facilities, arbitrary recruitment practices, and the use of unsafe operational vehicles.
The workers also accused management of failing to adequately address illegal lottery operations, which they say are affecting the Authority's market share and threatening job security.
Additional concerns include delays in lottery winnings payments, the implementation of the Scheme of Service, and the rollout of a staff Health Insurance Scheme.
Speaking to Citi News, Eric Tamakloe disclosed that the union has petitioned the National Labour Commission and warned that if management fails to address their concerns within 14 days, workers will take further action.
