Lion King director explores Chinese animation's global reach

On June 9, the 2026 Chongqing International Animation Film Week officially kicked off in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. A total of 45 masterpieces from over 500 global entries have been shortlisted to compete for 10 prestigious 'Golden Camellia' awards. Heading the international jury is legendary Hollywood director Rob Minkoff, who notes the rapid rise of Chinese animation.
