Speaking on his return to Ghana, the President said extensive construction, encroachment on wetlands, and development along waterways have significantly reduced the city's natural ability to absorb excess rainwater. He stressed the need for better urban planning and environmental protection measures to address the recurring flood challenge. His remarks come amid renewed concerns over flooding in parts of the capital following recent heavy rains.
