Mahama Orders Crackdown on Encroachment Along Waterways to Tackle Flooding

Speaking on his return to Ghana, the President said he has instructed the task force, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and other relevant agencies to identify all affected drainage channels and waterways for the necessary enforcement measures. Mahama also revealed that government will intensify public education through official communications and digital media campaigns to discourage practices such as indiscriminate waste disposal and unauthorized developments that contribute to flooding.
