International airlines meet to discuss impacts of Middle East conflict

Global airline leaders gathered in Rio de Janeiro for the International Air Transport Association's annual summit amid growing disruption in the Middle East.

IATA officials have been raising fresh concerns across the aviation industry. Against that backdrop, the association sharply cut its 2026 outlook, citing higher fuel prices and airspace disruptions linked to the conflict.
