A man who assaulted a nurse at the Community 22 Polyclinic in Tema has been convicted and sentenced by the Community 22 District Court.
The court ordered the convict, Desmond Bosomtwe, to pay a fine of 100 penalty units and GH₵5,000 in compensation to the complainant, Priscilla Addo.
In addition, he has been barred from visiting the health facility for 12 months effective June 9, 2026, and was required to sign a bond of good behaviour.
Reacting to the ruling, Philemon Gyapong said the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association had hoped for a stronger sentence to serve as a deterrent, but accepts the court's decision.
