The death toll from the Avenor building collapse in the Okaikwei South Constituency of the Greater Accra Region has risen to three after one of the two survivors succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.
Accra Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey confirmed the development, adding that the remaining survivor is currently receiving treatment at Ridge Hospital.
The tragic incident continues to raise serious concerns about building safety and enforcement of construction regulations in Accra, as authorities work to assess the cause of the collapse and prevent future occurrences.
Investigations and emergency response efforts are ongoing as the city grapples with the aftermath of the disaster.
