16 Unsafe Buildings Marked for Demolition in Greater Accra

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has announced that 16 unsafe buildings across the Greater Accra Region have been earmarked for demolition in the coming days as part of intensified efforts to prevent possible disasters.

According to NADMO, the identified structures are considered structurally unsafe and pose a serious threat to human life if left unattended. The move forms part of ongoing interventions to improve public safety and reduce the risk of building collapses in the region.

Authorities say the decision follows increased inspections and monitoring of buildings across Accra, especially after recent incidents that raised concerns about enforcement of building regulations.

Residents are being urged to cooperate with authorities as the demolition exercise is carried out to safeguard lives and property.
