Cooperative Mining: Aggrieved Youth to Join Training as “Blue Water Guards”

Addressing initial concerns raised by aggrieved youth and party members who alleged they had been sidelined in the registration and skills training under the Cooperative Mining Scheme, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has assured full inclusion in the programme.
He indicated that affected youth will take part in a two-day skills training programme beginning tomorrow as part of efforts to build capacity for responsible mining and environmental protection.
The Minister further announced that participants will be engaged as “Blue Water Guards,” tasked with helping to protect and clean Ghana's water bodies as part of the initiative.
He explained that the programme aims to combine job creation with environmental stewardship to ensure sustainable mining practices.
