Ga East Assembly to Demolish Church and Block Factory Over Flood Risk

The Ga East Municipal Works Department has announced plans to remove structures obstructing drainage channels as part of efforts to reduce flooding in the municipality.
Head of Works for the Ga East Municipal Assembly, Justin Glover, made this known during an inspection of flood-prone areas within the municipality.
According to him, a church, a block factory, and other structures located along drainage paths will be demolished to allow for smooth water flow and ongoing drainage improvement works.
He explained that the structures are blocking critical drainage channels and must be removed to enable engineers to properly excavate and clear the area.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Assembly to address flooding challenges and protect lives and property.
