The Korle Klottey Municipal Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), in partnership with Assorted Waste Alliance, has held a sensitisation exercise to mark World Environment Day 2026.
Speaking to Channel One News, NADMO Coordinator Hendrick Noble Kinnah warned that indiscriminate dumping of plastic waste and blockage of waterways continue to worsen flooding in parts of Accra that previously did not experience such challenges.
He urged residents to take responsibility for protecting rivers, drains, and the environment to help reduce flood risks and improve sanitation.
