Government-sponsored PhD students in the United Kingdom are raising serious concerns over delayed scholarship payments, despite reports that funds were released nearly eight weeks ago.

The UK-based cohort says the Ghana Scholarships Authority owes about 56 million cedis in unpaid tuition and stipends, with some students reportedly owed up to 40 months of allowances. The situation is creating financial strain and academic uncertainty for affected students.

Speaking on the matter, the President of the UK PhD Cohort, Dr. Prince Komla Bansah, is calling for urgent government intervention to resolve the crisis.
