Tensions Rise as NDC Youth Confront Lands Minister Over Mining Programme Launch in Eastern Region

Some angry youth believed to be members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region attempted to block the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, and his entourage from launching the government's Cooperative Mining Scheme.
The group, dressed in black with red bands, claimed party leadership was not consulted and described the event as poorly organised, alleging it could embarrass the party and the President.
Police intervention and party officials later stepped in to calm tensions, allowing the programme to proceed.
